US Ambassador Discusses Opportunities for UAEU Students in the US
H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) met with H.E. Mr. Michael H. Corbin, US Ambassador of the UAE in the new UAEU campus in Al Ain to explore collaboration aspects between UAEU and US universities. They discussed the importance of broadening the cooperation in the fields of higher education and mutual scientific research as well as assigning students for training at American universities, centers and organizations.
H.E., the American Ambassador acknowledged his support and enthusiasm for this initiative and indicated that the embassy plays a pivotal role as a link between the American universities and centres, and UAEU in order to support methods of cooperation to achieve the mutual interests and benefits between the two countries.
H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, UAEU Vice Chancellor, highlighted that the University has enjoyed a long history of engagement with China and also stressed the role of the American universities in supporting faculty and student exchange. "These exchanges aim to consolidate education developments in all fields.”
The US Ambassador also met with the Deans of the Colleges of: Medicine and Health Sciences, Food and Agriculture, Engineering, Science and Humanities & Social Sciences. They explored scientific partnerships between UAEU and the American universities.
Upon his meeting with UAEU academic leadership, the US Ambassador presented a lecture at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences with the attendance of students from Political Sciences and Mass Communication. He described his experience in diplomatic work indicating that he is proud to be appointed for the first time as a US Ambassador in UAE. He highlighted the mutual relations between the two countries and the constant developments across all aspects but specially in economy, industry, technology, politics and culture.
The US Ambassador expressed optimism for the fruitful growth and progression between the two countries.
